Jaime Taylor: Song
Robert Mari: Piano

Jaime Taylor
Jaime's musical career began at a very early age. Her mother, a professional singer, started giving Jaime music lessons when she first started to speak. Throughout her childhood, Jaime performed at music festivals in her home town of Medicine Hat, Alberta and won many awards for voice, piano, violin, and composition. Jaime discovered jazz as a teen and performed in the quintet How Many Cats, where she first met Robert.

Jaime's musical training continued on musical and academic scholarships at Augustana University College. There she studied with Kathleen Lotz, performed with the Augustana Choir, and became a member of the prestigious Encore jazz ensemble. She also toured with the Augustana Choir and performed Bach's Mass in B Minor.

Jaime's continuing work with Robert has evolved into the free-flowing improvisational style featured on the Planet Envey's first recording, A Note for Christmas.

Robert Mari
Robert began playing piano at age three, and by sixteen had become Musical Director, Arranger, and Conductor for the Russian Folk Orchestras of Vancouver and Victoria. Robert earned his BMus degree from the University of British Columbia and his MMus and DMA (abd) from the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University. He has conducted many orchestras across Canada and several in the US.

Robert explored electronic music for about ten years before returning to acoustic instruments, focusing on jazz piano. These musical experiences gave him his first taste of the mystical states accessible through direct, in-the-moment immersion in live music. His current improvisational work embodies a fresh expression of his unique style.

Throughout his musical career, Robert has revelled in musical exploration and performance. His current work as an acoustic piano improv artist is the latest reflection of that love.
